Each year the IFOSH World Championships are hosted in different cities around the world.  Once the bid has been accepted and date released, official IFOSH qualifying locations will be announced.  The 2015 selected city is Denver, Colorado and the final qualifying rounds begin September 19th, 2015 at 5 pm at the Denver Oktoberfest.  Qualifying rounds commence until the night of September 26th, 2015 when a new World Champion will be crowned for both men and women.

Official Rules


To be recorded in an official IFOSH event, you must have the proper equipment:

  1. An IFOSH Certified Judge
  2. Two 33.814 oz steins filled with 5.5lbs of bier
  3. Hoist both steins simultaneously in front of participant using straight arms at 90 degrees
  4. No bending the back
  5. No raising the arms or lowering the arms
  6. No spilling
  7. No crying

How to Qualify


For each calendar year, there will be hundreds of opportunities to qualify for the annual IFOSH World Championships (TM).

There are two main divisions – male and female.  To qualify, you must break into the top ten over times from the entire world before the IFOSH World Championships (TM).  The top ten male and females from all over the world will converge on the IFOSH World Championships to determine who is the World Champ.



The International Federation of Stein Hoisting is officially located at 33.813 Championship SE-113 vi 1, 49 Stockholm Sweden.

The board of directors are elected via IOC rules and are strictly volunteer unpaid positions.
